Ways To Look Glamorous But Still Be Comfortable

No, that's not an oxymoron!

The whole "suffer for fashion" notion is so outdated - who says you need to come home every night dying to tear of your dress and kick off your shoes. There's a way to look every inch of a glamorous streetstyle star, and still be cozy in the outfits you've created. Toss the itchy materials, the pinching waistlines, the five inch stilettos, and instead opt for pieces that won't want to make you dream about your sweatpants back at home. While it might sound impossible, I have a couple of hacks up my sleeve: Below are nine clever ways to look glamorous but stll be comfortable!

1. Use Sweaters

If you have an amazing skirt or glamorous pants or sharply tailored trousers, balance out the glitz and glamour of the piece by pairing it with a cozy sweater. Not only will you be chic enough to make an appearance in a magazine tutorial, but you'll be comfortable, too.

2. Match Fancy Skirts With Tees

In the same vain, if you have a show stopper of a skirt, try matching it with a tee. Whether it's a simple white or grey tee or something with more oomph to it like this striped one, it'll look interesting because of the juxtaposition between glamourous and casual.

3. Do The Socks And Heels Thang

Who says you need to suffer in heels? Just pair them with socks (they could be solid or quirkily patterned) and be on your way.

4. Swap Out Heels For Boots

Or just get rid of the heels all together and pair your streetstyle outfit with a pair of boots. Whether they're sharp Chelsea boots or a pair of motorcycle stompers, the contrast will be playful and unexpected.

5. Go For Pieces With Structure

Glamour doesn't have to equal uncomfortable silhouettes and tight necklines. Instead, look for pieces with structure to it, but a comfortable feel. For example, if you choose a skirt with clean lines and sharp tailoring (like this one,) or a blouse that's made out of sturdier and more luxurious material, you'll give off the vibe of glamour but be as comfy as you would be in jeans.

6. Go Nuts With Bling

Add a touch of Elizabeth Taylor oomph by going all out with your bling. You can have a simple of comfortable outfit on, and then spice it up with statement necklaces and showstopping earrings.

7. Add Plaid

What's more comfortable than a cozy, fall inspired plaid shirt? Contrast your luxe skirts or impeccably tailored pants (or even suit sets!) with a soft plaid shirt.

8. Try Wearing Sneakers

The sneaker trend is still huge, and for good reasons: It's creative, makes for unexpected pairings, and keeps your feet comfy all. Day. Long.

9. Choose Drapey Pieces

It's not like glamorous outfits have to be body hugging and pinching. Instead, choose pieces that drape: Go for flowing dresses, billowing tops, over sized sweaters, and loose and baggy pants. The outcome is glamour, but pajama-like comfort.
